When installing the AMD display diver my screen becomes black. My computer does do anything and I have to manually turn it off and turn it on

That is strange Can you try AMD Driver Autodetect?. That one is 100% sure using the correctly signed drivers. The ones from the download page should be digitally signed too, but maybe something goes wrong there? Yet here we are in 2019. Since the most recent (November 2019) Windows 10 update, my graphics drivers has been causing lag, micro freezing every 2 seconds, making watching videos impossible, and typing/scrolling difficult. The lag immediately disappears if I uninstall and delete the AMD driver.
